Aicha Benabed is Lecturer A in Sociology of Health in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the Faculty of Social Sciences, the University of Oran 2 Mohamed Ben Ahmed.

She is an associate researcher with the Research Unit in Social Sciences and Health (GRAS), at the University of Oran 2. She has participated in various field research supported by several international and national organizations (WHO Africa, CREDES, the BELGIAN Technical Cooperation…), for example: essential local care in Algeria, reproductive health, single mothers, infertility and medically assisted procreation, the socio-sanitary logics of families in In Salah, the use of obstetric care in women of childbearing age….

Her areas of interest focus on: sociology of health and illness, anthropology, gender, care, family, violence, migration and school. Her research has been the subject of national and international publications.
