Abir Menci
Holder of a Research Masters in African Studies at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of the University of Sousse. Her dissertation is entitled "Representations and experiences of single mothers in Tunisia".
Abir has worked as a research assistant in two projects dealing with migration issues. The first project focused on the impact of Covid-19 on refugees, migrants and asylum seekers in Tunisia, Libya and Niger: Vodan Africa. The second project explored the relationship between internal migration and international migration in the city of Sousse (Tunisia), within the framework of the FUME program (Future Migration Scenarios for Europe).
In 2021 she conducted a field survey on the experiences of sub-Saharan single mothers in Tunisia, thanks to the IRMC research grant. Her main interests are in migration, non-normative sexuality and motherhood.
