AMI Work Package

MADAR Network partner organisation AMI (led by Prof. Mehdi Lahlou) conducted an in-depth analysis of Moroccan migration laws and policies since 2003 as part of a MADAR funded Work Package. The researchers also carried out one hundred interviews with relevant stakeholders in four regions of Morocco. The research took place between 2021 and 2022.

The main aims of the project were to:

a / Inform civil society, in particular associations involved in supporting migrants and refugees, about the legal arsenal protecting them and thus giving them the means to advocate in this area. And, above all, allow them to use it to support and argue, in law and fact, their various interventions;

b/ Provide researchers and doctoral students working on the migration issue with useful data, information and references for their research.

c/ Give some information to public authorities about the gap existing between the laws and policies that they adopted and the reality of their application.
